Common Lane crossing once again is witness to a steam train passing over the crossing - who in 1966 would have thought 'steam' would once again return here!

The former 'Wyke Crossing Box', seen here in British Rail days, closed in 1964 and it then lay derelict in an adjoining field until being rescued by the GLR in 1993.

Common Lane signalbox under construction in 1989. The 'Stephens' type lever frame was rescued from a scrapheap and completely refurbished and later extended to control even more signals!

'Wyke', now better known as 'Pinesway Junction',  was completely refurbished, extended and brought back to life as a working signalbox in 1994.
